Ohio has enacted a state ban-the-box law that affects public employers. The law prohibits public-sector employers from asking questions about criminal history information until a conditional job offer has been made.
In addition, several counties and municipalities have ban-the-box laws. Those include: Akron, Alliance, Canton, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Dayton, Franklin County, Hamilton County, Lucas County, Massillon, Newark, Summit County, Warren and Youngstown.
