Every week we make improvements to the NCS system. Many of those changes include security and automation enhancements that can't be seen; however, we've made two changes that you will see on your reports very soon.
SSN Trace Changes
If your background check report includes a social security trace, you will notice it looks slightly different. For security and compliance reasons we have removed the street address from the reports. The report will still show the applicant's alias names, city, state and zip codes (all the necessary information that helps locate criminal records in those areas), but will now be keeping up with the ever changing regulations and industry best practices.
Follow-up Searches
If you order a background check that has a social security trace that includes addresses in certain states, there will be some additional statewide follow-up search options available to you. Some of these states include FL, GA, IL, NY, and SC. These are optional searches that will be easier for you to order (if they were not included in the original package). Occasionally, statewide searches in certain states are less expensive and more comprehensive than some county criminal searches due to additional costs and coverage areas.
